Had a great time at The Barrel Social Club in Kentucky
(Reddit Review)
“I was visiting Nashville a few weeks ago, and my brother and I went up to play some poker on a Saturday night. We called when we left to get on a 1/3 list (we didn’t know there was also 1/2, which he is more comfortable at), and when we arrived, we had seats available. I’ve never played at a club before, and I haven’t played in many rooms in the US, and I have to say this was a top-tier experience.
The front desk explained everything very clearly, as I’ve never joined a club or played hourly. We got an hour and a half free and got registered pretty quickly. There were drinks and snacks available, nothing fancy, but it certainly added to the “club” feel.
There was a high hand and double board PLO bomb pots at every dealer change on the hour, and they also have a thing where they put dealer tips on the button, and if the button wins, the dealer gets the tip. There was only one UTG straddle, no button straddle.
The game was good, I usually play 2/5 so far more limping and weak players at this table, with a few regs with massive stacks. I was there more so to hang with my brother, and I was happy we could be seated next to each other after about 20 minutes.
Thanks to everyone down there, and I’m jealous of those who have it as their local card room. Maybe next time through town I’ll play the 2/5.”

Tournament Rules
The Barrel Social Club follows the Tournament Director’s Association (TDA) 2024 Rules. All Barrel floor people are TDA certified members.
A player must be at their seat when the last card is dealt to all players on the initial deal to have a live hand. Players must be at their seats to call clock. “At your seat” is defined as being within reach or touch of your chair.
Higher denomination chips must be placed where they are easily visible and identifiable to all other players at the table at all times. “Hidden” chips may result in the offender being restricted in the player’s further action or another player being allowed to reconsider their action.
Tournament chips must be visible on the table throughout the event. Chips taken off the table will be removed from the event, and a player doing this may be disqualified.
All cards will be turned face up once a player is all in and all action is complete.
A player must show cards when playing the board to get part of the pot.
All cell phones and other voice-enabled and “ringing” electronic devices must be silenced during tournament play. A player who wants to use a cell phone must be at least one table length away from their assigned table or be subject to penalty. No cell phones or other electronic communication device can be placed on a poker table.
A player exposing their cards with action pending may incur a penalty, but will not have a dead hand. The penalty will begin at the end of the hand. All players at the table are entitled to see the exposed card(s), if requested. A penalty may also be imposed if a player throws a card off the table, violates the one-player-to-a-hand rule, or engages in similar behavior. Penalties will be invoked in cases of verbally stating one’s hand during play, soft-play, abuse or disruptive behavior. All penalties will be imposed at the tournament director’s discretion.
All decisions regarding the interpretation of rules, eligibility, etc. for this tournament lie solely with The Barrel and tournament staff whose decisions are final. *Note: Management reserves the right to alter, change, or cancel this tournament.
